Since 2021, waves of proposed policy change have swept our nation’s school boards and state legislatures, creating inadequate and hostile learning environments for educators and students. The messaging behind these efforts frame the issue as parents’ rights campaigns, but instead we have seen policies that promote book banning, limiting Black history, limiting LGBTQ acknowledgement, and other anti-equity measures.

This study focused on determining the most effective language and approach for connecting with two key groups: faith-based seniors and Latino men.
